Mobile Electronics magazine wants you to upload your best installation work to Installer Central’s Project Gallery forum for the chance to win the “Mother Lode” Grand Prize, $6,500-plus worth of products to help you build the ultimate mobile entertainment system. Mobile Electronics will announce the winner at our Industry Awards at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Starting Sept. 1, 2009 and running through October 15, 2009, we want you to upload photos of the best installation work you’ve done. You can post up to 10 photos for each install that you want us to judge, but you are welcome to post as many installations as you would like. We also want you to provide details about each install in the forum where you post the photos. Guidelines for what information we require with each submission are listed below.
Mobile Electronics will have its panel of judges review the images and info about each install submitted and will choose the best based on the criteria we have listed below under “Judging Criteria.”
This contest is for retailers, installers and DIYers only. Employees of industry manufacturers and Mobile Electronics magazine are not eligible to win the “Mother Lode” Grand Prize.
Also, to be eligible to win, you MUST follow the guidelines listed below. Please read them carefully. If you do not, you will be disqualified.

Information to Include With Each Installation Submission1-When you post your submission to the Upload Your Install contest, your headline should read as follows: Upload Your Install – Vehicle Year and Model – System, so if you are showing off a custom enclosure in a 2005 Suburban, your submission would read “Upload Your Install – 05 Suburban – Custom Enclosure.”
2-Make, model and year of vehicle
3-List of electronics used in vehicle, including manufacturer and model number
4-Name of the retail store where the installation took place (if applicable)
5-For each image, please explain what is being shown and provide any other relevant information about the installation process related to each image.
6-If more than one individual submits images from the same installation, the individual who submitted first is the only one eligible to win.
7-Once you have posted your installation images and information, you MUST send an e-mail that includes a phone number that you can be reached at AND your shipping address to
editor@installercentral.com. You must also include the name of the retail store that you work at for verification purposes.
8- Mobile Electronics will require proof of employment from individuals who work for retailers. For business owners who submit photos of an installation, we will require proof of business ownership. For do-it-yourselfers, we will require proof of purchase of products used in the install as well as some kind of proof that you were involved in doing the installation yourself.
Judging CriteriaA-Images submitted: how well the images depict the quality of the installation; note that photo quality will affect this score — 50%
B-Description of install and images: how well the user submitting images explains what is in each photo and communicates what was involved in the install — 50%
Contest Submission Rules and Guidelines1- The images you submit must be legally owned by you and you must have the right to post them in a public forum. By submitting images to Installer Central’s Project Gallery forum you affirm, represent, and/or warrant that you have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize Bobit Business Media, parent company of Mobile Electronics and Installer Central to use these images in its print and online media.
2- Each image should relate to a specific installation of mobile electronics products in a vehicle. Other content will be removed.
3- Retailers, employees of retailers (i.e. installers) and do-it-yourselfers are eligible for this contest. Individuals employed by industry manufacturers, Mobile Electronics magazine and contest sponsors are NOT eligible to win.
4- Users can post up to 10 images for a given installation. Users who want to submit more than one installation for consideration can post 10 images per installation that they are submitting. Images that help not only show the finished install but the process involved are encouraged.
5- To be eligible as a contestant, you must have participated in the installation process in some way.
6- Only a single contestant is eligible to win for a single install. If a team of installers worked on a given install, the installer who has posted the photos and described the content is the individual who is eligible to win the contest. If more than one individual posts images of the same installation, whoever posted first is eligible.
7- Images related to an installation must not contain offensive or vulgar content. Any images that do will be removed at the discretion of the forum administrators and the user that submitted those images will automatically be disqualified from winning the contest.
8- The Upload Your Install contest will only judge installation-related images and content during the period of 9/1/09 to 10/15/09. Any content submitted after 10/15/09 will not be eligible to with the Mother Lode grand prize.
9- If you are chosen as our winner and do not respond to e-mails within 10 days, you will be disqualified and we will choose the runner up as the winner.
10- The winner must remain in possession of the products and install the products in a vehicle within 6 months. The product must be used in a vehicle owned by the winner. The products cannot be re-sold in any way, online or otherwise, within 1 year of the winning date. The Contest winner will be interviewed, and follow-up photos of the installation will be taken within 6 months of winning the products.
11- Mobile Electronics will require proof of employment from individuals who work for retailers. For business owners who submit photos of an installation, we will require proof of business ownership. For do-it-yourselfers, we will require proof of purchase of products used in the install as well as some kind of proof that you were involved in doing the installation yourself.
12-The winner must supply any required materials and information for the purpose of shipping and for paying any related taxes.
